Selling with LinkedIn (without the hype)

At first, LinkedIn can seem like a big place – and a bit daunting too. 125m people in a virtual room looking to network, sell, buy, recruit, find a job and a whole host of other things.
In among them all is you and your business … and you need to make sure you can be found by all of those people looking for what you offer. You also need to make sure that you are well versed in how to achieve the goals that brought you to LinkedIn in the first place.
That’s what our Selling with LinkedIn workshop is all about.
We’re not talking about “foot in the door” selling here – that just doesn’t work online. A click of a mouse and the door can be easily and permanently slammed in our face. We are talking about making sure that we can find and reach the people that we want to target and that we can be found by anyone looking for the products and services or the skills and knowledge or the experience and reputation that we can offer.
Most of us wish to develop opportunities and new business for our companies whether we are individuals or multinational organisations. The ways in which we go about this vary enormously and LinkedIn has the capability to help us, no matter which methods we prefer and use.
In this LinkedIn workshop, we address a number of the ways you can better market yourself and / or your company (both passively and actively) as well as use LinkedIn to identify and contact prospects and keep you in the mind’s eye.
We will address the key starting blocks that you need to put in place by making sure that you have:
• a profile which communicates why you are the go to person in your subject area and then helps put you at the top of the LinkedIn search results for your chosen keywords
• Company Pages which will tap into people’s real requirements and allow people to find and recommend you;
• the extended network that you already have through your business and personal contacts accessible and working for you on LinkedIn
This gives us the foundation on which we can build targeted marketing and prospecting activity where you put yourself in front of those people that you wish to talk to. Here we look at the various elements that you may wish to build into this programme:
• Finding the people that we wish to target
• Listening to requirements from your key markets
• Associating with peer groups to encourage referrals
• Creating developing links with the right people in the right organisations
• Creating a flow of information to market what you do
• Integrating your other sales and marketing activities
